Welcome to Scoliosis What’s News
I’m Dr. Brett Diaz, D.C. the founder of Scoliosis Treatment Alternatives and the Director of Clinical Services for Scoliosis Systems on West Coast. We have multiple offices across the US to serve you. I want to thank you for the interest in our practice for your child and take a moment to introduce to you our unique, innovative approach to the alternative treatment of scoliosis. Each year with our comprehensive Evidenced Based Treatments we are able to help hundreds of children take control of their scoliosis and avoid surgery by improving their curves with our Corrective Movement Therapies.
What are Corrective Movement Therapies?
Simply put, these therapies help your child’s brain and body develop new patterns of movement that can reduce the imbalances in their spine to help improve their scoliosis. Since the brain governs the body’s posture through it’s habitual patterns of movement and stability, helping your child replace their current dysfunctional patterns with new and improved ones allows their nervous system to create lasting improvements in their scoliosis. You can learn more about how Corrective Movement Therapies work in the post below.
Addressing The ‘Driving Factors’ of Your Scoliosis
We utilized a number of different therapies to help improve your child’s curve, depending on the unique driving factors for their particular scoliosis. What’s important to understand is that scoliosis is not a disease itself, but rather it’s a condition that can arise as a result of a wide variety of factors. Depending on the severity of the factors will determine how they can “drive” your child’s scoliosis to progress. That’s why we take the time in our initial evaluation of your child to uncover each of their driving factor so we can insure our treatment is focused on the specific issues of their scoliosis.
